Unlike many reviewers here I have bought 3 Motley Fool subscriptions and I’m happy with the service and richer for it. They are a newsletter service and recommend buying at least 15 to 20 of their recommendations. I’ve done that and over 3 years am approx 90‰ up cumulative. I tried investigating on my own before the fools and got nowhere. They have podcasts and give some recommendations away on them for free, so try the pods first for free to see if they are for you. Yes they do send you a lot of marketing material which I ignore. They are totally transparent about all their recommendations as they track them all against the market. Please don’t listen to the haters, this team can help you get rich slowly I. E over 5,10 and 20 years they are not for day traders or people wanting to get rich quick.
Having worked in financial services for 25 years I feel like I can attest to how much rubbish is spouted by financial advisors. Yes, some are good, but most are simply selling mutual funds with no expertise other than sales skills. I learned more about good long term, life changing investing and wealth management in the first year of a subscription than I did in the entire time I spent on Wall Street.
