Clear Title

What is a clear title?

Clear Title Definition: A clear title is where there are no claims to an asset or a property, such as debts, liens, or debates about ownership. This situation is most commonly dealt with when purchasing or considering an investment in real estate or buying cars.

During this process, a title search is done to ensure there are no liens or claims against a property before closing, as this can complicate matters once the property is sold. Companies typically conduct title searches before a property or real estate is sold to ensure it’s clear. When a title search is done, this usually takes up to two weeks for results.
