What is a survey?

Survey Definition: A survey refers to an assessment done to confirm property characteristics, such as land boundaries if there is a septic tank, unique land surfaces, or areas of improvement.

Property surveys also identify the types of conditions included in the ownership of property, including encroachments, easements, and other restrictions or conditions that may impact the sale of land. Surveys are typically done prior to selling land or property, as the results must be disclosed to a potential buyer.
