What is a validator?

Validator Definition: A validator is a person that volunteers to help maintain safety and integrity on the blockchain. They compute a linkage from one block to another, in order to validate each transaction, which is also involved in the mining process for cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Bitcoin.

This type of work is performed using the PoW or Proof of Work protocol.
