What are the minimum requirements to qualify for life insurance?

The minimum requirements would be that you are in decent physical health and that you have a source of regular income.

If you have a chronic medical condition, you may still qualify for life insurance. However, you will need to show that the condition is being managed in consultation with a health professional. The existence of a chronic condition, or the like, may reduce the total amount of cover you qualify for and may result in higher monthly premiums.

If you have a life-threatening health condition, a criminal record, a substance abuse problem, have filed for bankruptcy, or have an extremely dangerous hobby, you may not qualify for life insurance.
