Apollo Insurance is an online insurance provider offering a variety of comprehensive coverage to small business owners, freelancers, and individuals. And they provide several coverage options, including professional liability insurance and wedding insurance. You can even complete the entire insurance application process online.

Finding a policy with a traditional insurance broker could take weeks, but with APOLLO Insurance, it takes about ten minutes.

In this APOLLO Insurance review, I’ll break down their offerings for individuals and businesses. I’ll also explore the company’s reputation, legitimacy, and the cost of insuring your assets through them.

Continue reading my APOLLO Insurance review to see if they’ll be a good fit for your needs.

The reputation of APOLLO Insurance

Before looking at their insurance products, this part of my APOLLO Insurance review will explore the company’s public perception.

To gather some insights on their reputation, I had a look at reviews of APOLLO Insurance on Google My Business. Here, various customers detail the experiences they’ve had with them.

Based on about 200 reviews, they’re known for providing a quick and straightforward service that can be completed entirely online and over the phone.

This eliminates the need to visit any offices, making it convenient to obtain coverage. Also, the process will be less time-consuming.

Many customers received coverage the same day they applied. However, this lead-time may be longer depending on your specific needs.

Reviewers also stated that the advisors are professional, responsive, and helpful. They provide ample guidance and a personal touch to a service that would otherwise be impersonal because of its online nature.

APOLLO Insurance also offers competitive and comprehensive insurance plans for various situations.

The pros and cons of APOLLO Insurance

Every organization has its benefits and drawbacks. In this section of my APOLLO Insurance review/ APOLLO Cover review, I’ll look at what sets them apart and their shortcomings.

The pros of APOLLO Insurance

The insurance policies offered by APOLLO Insurance are customizable. They can be tailored to over 250 industries, professions, and occupations, allowing you to adjust limits and deductibles.

You can complete the entire insurance application process online, from requesting a quote to paying and receiving your insurance certificate. This way, you won’t have to go to an office to get the insurance you need. Nor will you have to wait on a broker for days.

APOLLO Insurance has advisors to help you create an insurance policy suited for your situation or your business.

Another aspect that makes them stand out is their transparency. When you get a quote online, you will receive a detailed breakdown of your coverage and fees.

The cons of APOLLO Insurance

APOLLO Insurance doesn’t serve the whole of Canada. They offer their services in every province except Quebec.

In addition, there are certain types of insurance you can’t get with APOLLO Insurance, such as life and vehicle insurance.

They are also a young company. Compared to their competitors, who have been in business for about a decade, they only launched in 2019.

Quality of APOLLO Insurance services

To analyze the quality of service provided by APOLLO Insurance to their customers, I considered the feedback they received. My findings are summarized in this portion of my APOLLO Insurance review.

When writing this APOLLO Insurance, they are rated 4.7 out of 5 on Google My Business based on 181 reviews.

Several reviewers remarked on the professional and personable service provided by the insurance advisors.

APOLLO Insurance customers felt confident in their service and appreciated their rapid response time.

Advisors were also extremely helpful and responsive, offering valuable advice based on their knowledge of everyone’s situation.

Based on these comments, I can conclude that APOLLO Insurance delivers good service.

Apollo Insurance Review - Personal Details-Comparewise

Range of Apollo Insurance products and services

APOLLO Insurance’s coverage is divided into two categories: business insurance and personal insurance.

They protect businesses and individuals from personal liability and property damage, amongst other unforeseen situations.

While they sell insurance products, other companies underwrite the insurance policies. Borrowell, Ratehub, and QuadReal are among their partners.

Apollo business insurance

APOLLO Insurance provides coverage to small businesses in various industries, from beauticians to non-profits.

Having your business insured protects you financially if an unforeseen incident occurs.

It can also affect your company’s success since you can’t operate a business without insurance in specific industries.

Depending on your type of business, you can choose from a range of business insurance solutions, including:

  • Professional liability insurance
  • Errors and omissions insurance
  • General liability insurance
  • Contents insurance
  • Directors and officers’ liability insurance

You’ll need general liability insurance, content insurance, and directors’ and officers’ liability insurance if you run a non-profit.

I’ll explore these subcategories of business insurance in detail below.

Apollo professional liability insurance

This coverage is designed for medical practitioners and those who provide guidance or counsel.

It will protect you if a client files a legal claim against you, even if you were not at fault. This could be because of advice they receive from your company or service that caused them financial harm.

Personal liability insurance covers legal bills, damages owed, extra expenses, and lost wages.

Errors and omissions insurance is another type of personal liability insurance that APOLLO Insurance offers to business owners.

Apollo general liability insurance

When your business is found legally accountable for negligence, this type of coverage will come in handy.

General liability insurance covers you in the following situations:

  • Tenants’ legal liability
  • Personal & advertising injury
  • Bodily injury and property damage
  • Medical expenses

With this type of coverage, your insurance provider will handle legal fees and court-ordered or out-of-court settlements.

Apollo contents insurance

If you want to protect your physical stock or equipment from damage or theft, you’ll need contents insurance.

You have two options for contents insurance:

  1. Named perils: This covers your property for specific dangers stated in your insurance policy, such as explosions or lighting.
  2. All risk: This is more comprehensive coverage that protects your belongings from all dangers that your policy does not explicitly exclude, such as theft.
Apollo Insurance Review - Coverage Limits-Comparewise

Apollo directors and officers liability insurance

This type of coverage protects a non-profit board if they’re held personally accountable for the decisions they make.

It insures directors and officers who may be sued for negligence or honest mistakes that caused someone financial losses or dismissal from their job.

Directors and officers’ liability insurance covers the cost of legal representation and damages if you end up losing a lawsuit.

You can buy insurance for your non-profit online if your organization falls within one of the following groups:

  • Campus or community radio stations
  • Research and development institutes
  • Societies
  • Chambers of commerce and boards of trade
  • Foundations
  • Associations
  • Community organizations
  • Counselling services
  • Community centres

The cost of Apollo business insurance

Some of the coverage options I’ve mentioned so far in my APOLLO Insurance review might cost as little as $18.15 per month.

According to their website (apollocover.com), general liability insurance starts at $12.50 per month. However, the monthly cost can be higher if you have a greater coverage limit.

The following factors can affect a policy’s cost:

  • The type of service you provide
  • Number of employees
  • Previous insurance claims
  • Data sets gathered by APOLLO’s underwriters
  • Previous insurance claims
Apollo Insurance Review - Insurance Quote-Comparewise

Apollo personal insurance

Investing in property and asset insurance can pay off in the long run.

It guarantees that your insurer will reimburse you for damaged or stolen items. Also, if you’re sued, you’ll be able to defend yourself in court and pay any settlement fees.

APOLLO Insurance provides the following personal insurance:

I’ll explore these personal insurance options below.

Apollo renter’s insurance

As a renter, you may face unexpected situations that your landlord’s insurance policy doesn’t cover. This could include incidents like pipes bursting or the theft of your belongings.

With renter’s insurance, you can make a claim for:

  • Fire and smoke damage
  • Crime and vandalism
  • Personal liability
  • Water damage and extended water coverage
  • Additional living expenses

Apollo homeowners’ insurance

This type of coverage protects you and your belongings when an unanticipated situation occurs. It applies whether you own a five-bedroom house or a condo.

While it may not appear necessary, homeowners’ insurance covers you if your valuables are stolen or damaged. And if your house becomes uninhabitable.

Also, you won’t be burdened with an unmanageable financial expense if you’re found legally liable for someone getting hurt on your property. Your home insurance provider would cover legal and medical costs.

Apollo wedding insurance

If you need to postpone your wedding, a lawsuit emerges, or your suffer loss of property, APOLLO Insurance’s Wedding insurance will cover you.

Wedding insurance is subdivided into the following categories:

  1. Cancellation insurance: This covers you if you need to cancel or reschedule your wedding because of an emergency. Your policy will reimburse you for non-refundable deposits and other wedding expenses.
  2. General liability insurance: This protects you if a guest is injured or there’s any property damage during the event. Your insurer will handle legal fees and any settlement or damage award.
  3. Contents insurance: This covers any damage or loss of your wedding items, such as your dress or rings. Your insurance provider will cover the monetary replacement value.

Apollo boat insurance

This type of coverage is designed for boat owners who want to safeguard their assets and themselves from unforeseen circumstances.

This policy covers damage to your boat, theft of property from your boat, personal liability, and additional living expenses.

Your insurer will handle the cost of replacement and repair.

The cost of Apollo personal insurance

The coverage limit, deductible, and scope of the policy are the primary factors contributing to the cost of personal insurance.

If you have an extensive coverage limit, you’ll likely have to pay more every month.

Where applicable, other factors that affect the cost of personal insurance include:

  • The building type
  • Your city of residence
  • Previous insurance claims
  • Your level of experience as a boater
  • Your age
  • Where your boat is moored

Now that you know the types of insurance they provide, the next part of my APOLLO Insurance review will explore how safe it is to deal with them.

In the case of offline security, only authorized employees will have access to your personal information.

In the next part of my APOLLO Insurance review/ APOLLO Cover review, I’ll walk you through what you need to do to get insured.

With APOLLO Insurance, you won’t have to fill out any physical applications and wait on feedback for days.

The entire process of getting yourself or your business insured can take as little as five to ten minutes.

During this time, you will get a quote, talk to an insurance advisor, make payment, and receive your policy with your insurance certificate.

Alternatives to APOLLO Insurance

While APOLLO Insurance offers a wide range of insurance solutions, you might want to look into other insurers. This could be to compare prices or to get another type of coverage, such as vehicle insurance.

Therefore, in this section of my APOLLO Insurance review, I’ll give you some options to think about.

Sonnet Insurance

Sonnet is a home and auto insurance company that offers coverage online.

Besides auto and home insurance, they specialize in condo, tenant, and landlord insurance. You can also get your pet insured with Sonnet, a service APOLLO Insurance doesn’t provide.

Sonnet insurance policies are underwritten directly by the company. This means you’ll be buying a Sonnet policy and not that of a third-party organization.

They cater to residents of Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. However, you can’t apply for insurance if you live in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland & Labrador, and the territories.

Front Row

Front Row is an insurance broker. They don’t sell insurance directly but rather connect you with an insurer.

As with APOLLO Insurance, you can get coverage online.

They cover the entertainment industry, including film, music, photography, theatre, and events. Therefore, their brokerage service is ideal for theatre producers, photographers, musicians, and filmmakers.

Front Row can help you get wedding insurance, which is provided directly by APOLLO Insurance. But they don’t offer coverage for professionals such as lawyers and accountants.

Square One

Square One is an insurance agency that provides coverage online.

They were founded in 2011 and are based in British Columbia. Currently, they have an A+ Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating.

They have more limited services compared to APOLLO insurance, specializing in property insurance only.

Insurance policies start at $12 per month. However, the final figure will depend on the type of insurance you require and other factors.

They serve the same provinces as APOLLO Insurance, including British Columbia and Quebec. Therefore, if you live in one of these provinces, you might consider Square One. One region they don’t offer their services in is Nova Scotia.
