Garnishment

What is garnishment?

Garnishment Definition: Wage garnishment, or garnishment, refers to a process when the court orders a portion of funds be withheld from your paycheck and sent to a lender or another party.

This process must be ordered legally by the court in order to be deducted and is only done after many attempts to collect the owed funds isn’t successful. The garnishment of wages or salary is typically done to recover funds owed for child support, taxes, and alimony.
