In this review of Instapage, I’ll give you a detailed walk-through of the platform’s features and the company’s safety measures. I’ll also go over their pricing plans and the sign-up process.

Let’s get right into my Instapage review.

What Makes Instapage a Good Option?

Driving an audience to your products or services is vital for the success of your business. While Ads are a great way to generate leads, you might want to go the extra mile with converting your audience into sales.

That’s where Instapage comes in. You can build a stunning, highly responsive landing page in minutes. And have it up and running with little effort on your part.

Compared to its closest competitors, Instapage is great for anyone who doesn’t have design or coding experience. You can use a drag-and-drop builder to put together a landing page, add custom blocks, and personalize it to your liking.

The ease of use is one of many things that make Instapage worth the bet. You’ll also have access to analytics and testing tools.

These will help you determine whether prospects are taking the right actions or if you need to change up your wording.

You can also perform A/B split testing with different marketing strategies to determine which landing page results in more conversions.

Instapage landing pages support dozens of integrations. Your website’s traffic is also unrestricted, meaning any number of people can visit your landing page.

Top-rated hosting providers, such as Amazon Web services, will host your landing page. Instapage also provides the best security for users.

Instapage has helped thousands of businesses increase their conversion rate. Some of the most notable companies that have worked with them include Verizon, Eurosport, and HelloFresh.

The Pros and Cons of Instapage

Before exploring their platform’s features, I’ll go over some of their benefits and drawbacks in this section of my Instapage review.

Pros of InstapageCons of Instapage
+ Ease of use
+ Full customization
+ User feedback and testing
+ Integrations
+ Collaboration
+ Mobile responsive landing pages
+ Fast loading pages
– Expensive
– No fee version
– Conditial free trial

The Pros of Instapage

There are plenty of upsides to Instapage’s landing page builder. Here are a few:

  • Ease of use
  • Full customization
  • User feedback and testing
  • Integrations
  • Collaboration
  • Mobile responsive landing pages
  • Fast loading pages

Ease of Use

Instapage’s primary advantage is the ease with which you can create a landing page. You don’t have to struggle with putting a page together, especially if you don’t have any design skills.

The drag-and-drop landing page builder is both convenient and functional. Almost anyone can build a ‘mini website’ with no developer to code the page, even beginners. It’s super easy to get up to speed with the features, and integrating WordPress is seamless.

You can start with a pre-built template or with a blank canvas. Either route allows you to easily add different widgets, forms, and text boxes. You also have guidelines to align your elements.

Full Customization Available

With Instapage, you can create a landing page that matches the design and spirit of your company.

You can use brand colours that correspond to the image your clients are accustomed to.

Also, you have access to 5000+ premium Google and Adobe Webfonts.

User Feedback and Testing Tools

When creating a landing page, you need to know how it’s performing to adjust your strategy or capitalize on your success.

Instapage has a heatmap mode that highlights user activity like scroll depth. You can determine which parts of your landing page are intriguing to visitors and need to be more engaging.

They also have an A/B testing feature. You can create pages with different information to see which results in more conversions.

Integrations

Instapage allows a variety of third-party integrations for marketing automation and email marketing. You can also integrate your CRM and advertising platforms.

The integrations you can quickly work into your landing page include HubSpot, Mailchimp, Zapier, and WordPress.

Collaboration

The comment mode on Instapage’s landing page builder is an excellent resource for teams. Also, if you’re building a website for a client.

It allows you to collaborate from anywhere by providing and receiving live feedback.

You can view real-time edits as well. And have instant conversations about what’s working and what needs changing.

Mobile Responsive Landing Pages

The landing page you create will be mobile-friendly by default. However, if there are aspects you want to change, you have complete control over doing so.

Fast Loading Pages

Given that you only have a few seconds to capture your audience’s attention, load times are critical to your landing page’s success.

Instapage’s landing pages have impeccably fast loading times thanks to the Thor Render Engine.

Instapage Review 2 - Comparewise

The Cons of Instapage

While there are various advantages to Instapage’s platform, there are also some drawbacks. This part of my Instapage review deals with a few of the downfalls associates with the app. These include:

  • Expensive
  • No fee version
  • Conditial free trial
  • Slow syncing
  • Limited icons + images

Expensive

Compared to its closest competitors, Instapage is the least affordable option.

No Free Plan

You’re out of luck if you want to create a landing page without spending any money. Instead, sign up for a 14-day trial to try out all of Instapage’s features.

Conditional Free Trial

While the 14-day trial is a great way to try out the landing page builder without buying anything, you still have to make a commitment.

You have to enter your card information to proceed with the trial.

There’s a chance they’ll deduct the plan’s cost from your account after the trial ends. Therefore, be sure to note the date down and cancel it beforehand if you’re still deciding.

You will have 24 hours to request a refund. However, if this period lapses, you can’t get your money back.

Slow Syncing Between Mobile and Desktop Versions

When you change the desktop version of your landing page, you may experience some delays with the mobile site.

The two versions could take some time to synchronize, which won’t be great if you made significant edits.

Limited Icons and Stock Images

The free icon and stock image library are limited.

Review of Instapage’s Features

Instapage’s specialty is landing pages, but they go a step further by offering various tools and aspects to create landing pages that convert.

You’ll have access to a library of templates and stock images, and user feedback tools. You can also integrate various software and collaborate with your team or client in real-time.

These are just some of their wide range of features.

I’ll walk you through some features that stood out to me in the following sections of my Instapage review.

Landing Pages

You can create post-click landing pages for lead generation, eCommerce, or Google Search Ads.

Filter designs by categories, including case study, webinar registration, trial sign up, and product launch, to find a landing page that meets your requirements.

The editor allows complete control over the design of your landing page. A drag-and-drop page builder is available, which differs from WordPress page builders.

You can move items anywhere you’d like on the canvas. You could even opt to place them on top of each other. This won’t leave you restricted to a grid, column, or row-based structure.

This grants you a great deal of flexibility and customization to your preferred style.

You can link third-party software to a landing page, enable GDPR compliance, and add text to your page’s header, body, and footer. You can also customize your search engine and social media preferences.

Customizable Templates

Starting a landing page from scratch might be something you aren’t looking forward to doing. The good news is Instapage has a library of over 200 templates users can use.

You can filter items to narrow down specific templates for your target audience.

A template won’t confine you to one style. You can customize it later and add your personal touch. It’ll make designing easier because you have inspiration.

Instapage Review 1 - Comparewise

Authentic Stock Images

You have direct access to Bigstock’s library if you don’t have pictures to insert into your landing page. The platform has over 30 million royalty-free stock images, videos, and vectors you can choose.

Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMPs)

Most people view websites on their smartphones. Therefore, you need to ensure there aren’t any lags or display errors on your page.

Instapage allows you to create AMPs using their standing drag-and-drop builder. You will have some limitations on the widgets you can add, but excluding them will contribute to faster page speed.

Form Lead Automation

You can add a variety of forms to your landing page to collect user data, like email addresses. This information can be automatically added to your CRM by integrating an automation tool like Zapier.

Heatmaps

To capitalize on your landing pages, you’ll need split testing and analytics tools.

You can find out which landing pages generate the most conversions, helping you get the most out of your advertising budget.

Heatmaps show user events such as mouse clicks and motions, as well as scroll depths.

These are colour-coded by frequency and shown in vibrant hues. The higher the intensity, the longer users stayed at a given location.

A/B Split Testing

You can optimize your landing page for conversions with A/B testing capabilities.

This will allow you to increase your conversion rates by tracking user behaviours and experimenting with new components, styles, and/or designs.

Split testing is when you create two different CTA buttons or landing pages to test user reactions.

It’s the most efficient way to make informed marketing decisions without risking your company’s long-term viability.

After all, it’s challenging to build effective landing pages from the ground up. It takes time to figure out which CTA buttons, marketing tools, and designs are most effective.

AdMap

AdMap enables you to manage your Google Ads campaigns through Instapage.

Instapage also allows you to import advertising campaigns. This lets you further customize post-click landing pages.

Each of your campaigns, ad groups, and connected ads are displayed.

By designating an ad to a group and showing specific landing pages, you can provide users with a tailored experience.

With AdMap, you can choose which ads your target audience sees and how they engage with them.

AdMap, on the other hand, does not allow Google Ads in shopping or video formats. Instead, it is limited to search and display ads.

This is something I discovered when using AdMap. My video ad campaigns weren’t showing up in Instapage since they weren’t compatible with the platform.

Widgets

Widgets allow you to insert elements on landing pages, including CTA buttons and countdown timers.

Using Instapage widgets, you can quickly add a variety of features to your landing page design.

Widgets are contained in a sidebar menu. All you have to do is click one, and it will appear on the canvas.

Customization is straightforward after that. Move the widget across the page and customize its design and content. You can also describe a widget’s related action.

Despite the simplicity of Instapage’s widgets, they have some limitations compared to WordPress page builders like Elementor.

Instablocks

These are landing page blocks exclusive to Instapage.

Instablocks cut down the time needed to build professional landing pages. This can be a great asset if you’re creating multiple landing pages.

You can start building a landing page with Instablocks templates. Or create your own to reuse later on other landing page designs.

Collaboration

Working with a team on Instapage is a blast. Members of a team can provide real-time feedback on specific areas of a design.

Edits can be made in real-time, allowing everyone on the team to provide their input and request changes.

Third-party Integrations

Third-party integrations are standard with most landing page builders.

Instapage allows you to connect the most popular third-party advertising, analytics, CRM, email marketing, and marketing automation tools on the market today.

You can also connect your workspaces or individual landing pages to your Google Ads and Analytics accounts. This will allow you to track landing page and variation success.

Without needing a developer, you can easily manage and adjust marketing tags so you can swiftly update AdWords, Google Analytics, and third-party tags.

Using Google’s Invisible reCAPTCHA, you can protect your landing pages from spam while allowing legitimate visitors to engage and convert with ease.

Lastly, you can publish pages to as many domains as you or your clients require with Instapage.

The Thor Render Engine

The Thor Render Engine is the key to landing pages that load 3x faster, allowing advertisers and marketers to maximize conversions.

This innovation, according to Instapage, increases not just page load speed but also paid conversions, SEO rankings, and overall user experience.

They also claim that Google PageSpeed Insights has validated and ranked Instapage as the fastest. This is an industry-standard tool for determining the speed and performance of websites on mobile and desktop platforms.

Dedicated Web Hosting

Instapage uses a combination of Amazon and Google cloud servers that are up and running 99.99 percent of the time to ensure that campaigns convert around the clock.

Instapage Review 3 - Comparewise

Now that you know more about the platform’s features, this part of my review of Instapage review will cover the cost.

Instapage currently has the following plans:

  1. Building – this is the basic plan for $199, when billed annually, and $299 when billed monthly. You get features such as AdMap, Zapier, and HubSpot integrations and the landing page builder. You can test the building plan for a 14-day trial period.
  2. Converting – this plan is built to increase conversions, lower the cost-per-click, and boost return on advertising spend. It doesn’t have a set price, so you’ll have to contact Instapage for a price specific to your business. You get all the features in the building plan, including heatmaps and editable global blocks.

Is It Safe to Use Instapage’s Products?

Yes, it’s safe to use Instapage for all your landing page needs. They’ve incorporated specific security and performance features into their website, which I’ll detail in this part of my Instapage review.

Instapage is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The GDPR expands European citizens’ privacy consent and protection and regulates how businesses handle their personal data.

It’s also SOC-2 Type II compliant. This means that data is encrypted by SSL and TLS 1.2 technology. And they have safeguards in place for network intrusion detection and prevention.

In addition, all Instapage employees sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).

Instapage’s services are hosted with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). These are the best in the market, meaning your landing page is unlikely to vanish because servers have gone down.

Instapage Customer Support

A dependable support team and good customer service are vital when building a landing page. That’s why in this section of my Instapage review, I’ll explore the type of support Instapage provides to customers.

Instapage isn’t short of ways to improve their clients’ landing page-building experiences. This includes a help centre with informational articles on various platform areas, including personalization, experiments, and integrations.

They also have a blog where you can read various articles on advertising and conversion optimization topics.

The Instapage support team can help you with whatever issues you have. Everything from troubleshooting domain setups to adding custom code to your landing page.

You can reach customer support through the 24/7 live chat feature on the Instapage website. You can also contact them by email or phone.

How is Their Online Platform?

Since you’ll be spending most of your time on their platform, I’ll give you a brief overview in this part of my Instapage review.

I had high expectations when I entered the online platform. And I was surprised to see that it was much duller compared to Instapage’s website.

When you first log into your account, you’re met with a minimalist, modern interface.

On the left side panel menu, you’ll see all of Instapage’s features. This includes landing pages, personalization, experiments, AdMap, and analytics.

To start building your landing page, select landing pages. You will be given an option to start with a blank page or choose from various pre-built templates. You can filter these, so you have a specific landing page for your requirements.

The page editor is as in-depth as promised. The left side panel has all the widgets and elements you can add to the page. There are also grid lines to help you align your page content.

You have options to preview your website, leave a comment, and save your design on the top navigation bar. You can also seamlessly switch from desktop to mobile view and edit that version.

It’s definitely easy to build a landing page in less than an hour. Granted, you’ve pre-written the text, and you have your multimedia ready.

Outside of the page editor, you can adjust the conversion goals on each landing page. You can also connect any third-party analytics software or email marketing service to track page performance.

Overall, you don’t need to be a coder or a designer to use Instapage’s landing page builder. It’s built for anyone.

Now that I’ve covered most of what you need to know about Instapage let’s have a look at their sign-up process in the next part of my Instapage review.

How to Get Started with Instapage

Signing up for Instapage is simple and should take you less than 10 minutes. In this section of my Instapage review I’ll detail how you can get started with the app.

When you visit their website, you’re met with a few ‘get started’ buttons. Clicking one of these will lead you to a form where you can schedule a platform demo.

You’ll need to provide your business email, full name, and company name. Also, you can select a reason for your interest in their products from a drop-down menu of options, such as creating a temporary website and validating an idea.

If you don’t want a demo, you can sign up for a free trial. Now, finding the trial wasn’t as easy as it ought to be. Unlike with the demo, it’s not highlighted on their homepage.

You’ll need to visit the ‘plans’ page on the Instapage website. Then under the building plan, click the ‘start 14-day trial’ button.

You’ll be directed to a form where you fill in your personal details to create an account. Alternatively, you can sign up with your Google account if you don’t want to type in your personal information.

You’ll also need to provide information about your business and your credit card information.

Alternatives to Instapage

While Instapage boasts many useful features, it isn’t the most affordable solution on the market.

This part of my Instapage review will explore alternatives like ConvertKit and Leadpages you can consider.

Landingi

Landingi specializes in landing pages. It has all the integrations and elements you’ll need to boost your marketing campaigns and conversions.

What makes them stand out is their migration service.

Their team can import every landing page you’ve created on any other platform, maintaining your to-date design in a 1:1 ratio.

What’s more, they will import three of your landing pages without charging you.

Features

  • Drag-and-drop editor
  • Pop-up builder
  • Pre-built templates
  • Integrations
  • Lead capturing
  • Landing page importing

Pricing

They provide flexibility in pricing plans that Instapage lacks. You won’t have to settle on one plan with a defined price, as they have four to choose from.

The cheapest package is $35 per month when billed monthly and $29 per month billed annually. While this plan might be affordable, you are limited to 1000 unique visits per month.

Their most expensive plan goes for $109 per month when billed annually and $129 per month when billed monthly. You get 50,000 unique visits per month and free migration service.

Another great thing about Landingi is that you can get two months off when you choose to be billed annually. They also offer a 14-day trial.

GetResponse

GetResponse is all about supporting online business owners. Therefore, they’re primarily an email marketing and conversion-funnelling platform.

You can build landing pages on GetResponse’s platform as well.

If you’re looking for a free landing page builder, GetResponse is an excellent choice to look into. You won’t get as much functionality as Instapage, but you might end up with a page that converts.

Features

  • Drag-and-drop builder
  • Mobile-friendly landing pages
  • Free stock photos
  • Free domains
  • User tracking and A/B testing

Pricing

They provide a free-forever plan and four paid plans.

On the free plan, you can only create one landing page. You’re also limited to 1000 website visitors.

Their cheapest plan starts from $15 per month when billed monthly. You can create unlimited landing pages, perform A/B testing, and create autoresponders.

Pro is their most expensive plan, which is priced at $99 per month. This plan allows you to have more users and web push notifications.

They also have a custom-priced plan that has a comprehensive range of features.

ConvertKit

ConvertKit is centred on creators. Therefore, if you’re a musician or podcast presenter trying to grow your audience, you might consider them.

Features

  • Fully responsive templates
  • Unsplash integration
  • No code landing page builder
  • Analytics and tracking

While ConvertKit’s landing pages can get you conversions, they lack the aesthetics Instapage seamlessly delivers.

Pricing

The cost depends on how many subscribers you’re managing.

They have a free plan that enables you to build unlimited landing pages and forms. You can also manage up to 1,000 subscribers. However, you don’t have the option of free migrations from another tool.

Their lowest paid plan starts at $9 per month to manage 300 subscribers when billed monthly. With this plan, you can import your landing pages from other platforms.

Their most expensive plan starts at $29 per month to manage 300 subscribers when billed monthly.

If you choose annual billing, you get two months free.

Leadpages

Leadpages is a platform for building websites and landing pages. They have attractive templates and reasonably priced plans.

Features

  • Pre-built, mobile-optimized templates
  • Pop-up boxes
  • Built-in conversion guidance
  • 40+ Integrations
  • A/B split testing
  • Real-time analytics

Pricing

Their standard plan is $37 per month when billed monthly and $27 per month when billed annually. You get unlimited traffic and leads and 40+ integrations.

Their more expensive package goes for $79 per month when billed monthly and $59 per month when billed annually. This plan includes unlimited A/B split testing.

They also offer a 14-day free trial.

Conclusion of Our Instapage Review

A landing page can make or break a company’s marketing efforts. If your audience isn’t engaged or your website lags, your conversion rate suffers.

Through this Instapage review you will have learned that this app can cover you on both fronts. Their landing pages boast fast load times, and they’re optimized for mobile devices.

If users aren’t engaged, you can run tests to see what’s working and what isn’t. You’ll have real-time data and feedback that you can implement into your strategy. This will allow you to find what works and capitalize on that.

Although Instapage has more comprehensive features than its closest competitors, it isn’t the most affordable landing page builder on the market.

It’s wise to first analyze your budget and see if the cost of Instapage’s features will work for your business.

Our Instapage review covers the features, pros, cons, & costs of this pro landing page builder. Discover how to get started with Instapage.
